Your 18-inch doll is sure to have sweet dreams when you custom design a bed just for her with our Suite Dreams Collection!
This PDF project download is the first release in the collection and includes instructions for building a PVC bed frame with attached headboard and footboard. Options include two bed sizes - twin and full - as well as three headboard and footboard combinations, including simple, curved and ladder styles. Tips for prepping your pipes are included, as well as step-by-step construction photos to help with assembly. This project is easy enough for most beginners ... no power tools needed!
Also included are pattern pieces and detailed instructions for creating a foam mattress with a fabric cover. The cover features a zippered opening for easy removal and laundering. Quilted fabric is recommended for a more realistic look, as well as the addition of optional piping around the edges. The bed frame is designed to accommodate two stacked mattresses, making it easy to add a bed skirt using other patterns in the Suite Dreams Collection.

BED FRAME (see image of page 7 for exact quantities needed, depending upon selected bed size and headboard/footboard options):
– Schedule 40 rigid 1/2-inch PVC pipe
– PVC 1/2-inch fittings (slip): TEE, ELBOW (45°), ELBOW (90°), 4-WAY, END CAP
– Optional: sandpaper (medium and fine grit), spray paint for plastic, contact cement
MATTRESS:
– Fabric: 2/3 yard (TWIN) to 3/4 yard (FULL)
– Upholstery foam – 1 inch thick: 10×20 inches (TWIN) or 16×20 inches (FULL)
– Vinyl zipper: 7-inch (TWIN) or 11-inch (FULL)
– Optional: Bias tape maxi piping: 2-4 yards (TWIN) or 3-5 yards (FULL)
TOOLS:
– Small handheld PVC pipe cutter, hacksaw or miter saw
– Measuring tape or yardstick
– Needle nose pliers
– Sewing machine
– Rubber mallet
